Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is going further into adult roles with his latest project, the paranormal thriller Horns, to start filming in Vancouver in late September.
Directed by french horror master Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha), the movie is based on the novel by Joe Hill, about a guy who wakes up suspected of raping and murdering his girlfriend — and with mysterious horns growing from his head.
The horns give him dark powers, including the ability to make people confess their sins and indulge their ugliest desires, which he uses in a quest to find the real killer. It’s a relatively low-budget (under $20 million) four-week shoot. No word yet on other cast.
Vancouver producer Shawn Williamson earlier worked with director-star Robert Redford on the political thriller The Company You Keep.
